Group Piano Lessons using KeyNotes Music
Group Piano Lessons: An Introduction

What are group piano lessons?
The concept of group piano lessons is pretty simple: a group of 4-6 students of similar ages and abilities studying the piano within the same lesson.
What do group piano lessons offer?
Kids learn best when they're having fun. What better way to learn to play the piano than to make it a fun place to be where they're excited to learn with friends? The KeyNotes Music group program makes it a simple, effective, FUN way to learn! Here are a few of the most important benefits:
🎶Social Learning: Students learn from each other, making lessons more engaging and interactive.
🎶Peer Motivation: Children encourage each other to practice and improve, creating a positive learning environment.
🎶Ensemble Playing: They experience the joy of making music together, enhancing teamwork and listening skills.
How are group piano lessons set up?
Group piano lessons at Prairie Blooms Music are currently offered only as in-person classes, Wednesdays in Lucky Lake and Thursdays in Outlook. Students are placed in a class that is suitable for their age and ability level. The Little Keynotes class is 30 minutes long and the others are 45 minutes.
How do I know if group piano is right for my child?
🎶If you have a child who wants to learn the piano but struggles with having motivation to practice, group lessons are a great way to get them excited about learning! When they're having fun in lessons and they get to learn alongside friends, their motivation for practicing will skyrocket.
🎶If you have a child who already does well in 1-1 lessons, group lessons will offer an even more enriching experience: they get to play as part of an ensemble EVERY WEEK instead of always alone. Their listening and rhythm skills will improve, and their confidence in performing will get a huge boost.
Why KeyNotes Music?
I'm excited about using KeyNotes Music because it's set up to ensure that every child can be successful. Each activity has an entry level for newer students and students who need support, as well as several challenge levels for students who are capable of more. It's created using skills-based learning, which means you can be confident that your child will be learning the skills they need to continue growing, and they'll gain independence and confidence in their own musicality. This program supports both students who need extra challenges and those who need extra support. Every student can learn and progress at a pace that is suitable for them.
What if I still have questions?
I'm confident that group piano lessons will work well for my beginner and intermediate piano students. I offer a one-month paid trial period for new students, after which you can decide on committing longer-term. If you have questions, please use the form at the bottom of the page to contact me and I'll be in touch!
